Wazfest waz not a disappointment for 2006. Although we had to change the date at the last minute consequently resulting in the absence of some expected guests (including the pyro guy), we still rocked hard most of the day and night. Waz Warpt waz accented this year by the acoustic sounds of Mike White again. There's something about the pure sound of an acoustic guitar and the voice of Mike singing (mostly cover tunes with a few originals) that reminds us all of the roots of rock. The sound of our newest act, 'Severed Oath', harmonized exceedingly well with Waz Warpt and really rounded out the act. These guys are pretty young but.. they rock! With at least two guitars besides the bass, an energetic drummer and the heavy vocals of Tiny, this band played a lot of originals and a few covers of older metal. There waz an absence of fireworks in the sky but they showed up instead onstage. Severed Oath with their smokin' effects, Zach Smith pouncing on and off the stage to his own rhythm and Andy with his normally unusual style of adrenaline-pumped percussion.. oh yeah, and that wet T-shirt thing; that waz pretty cool, too. Unfortunately, due to extreme technical difficulties, posting any audio from this event would be technically impossible but in the meantime, enjoy the pics. | |
